Roles and Responsibilities during the referral and evaluation process
-
According to Colorado's Part C website, this April 2008 conference call (http://www.eicolorado.org/media/childfindTAcall_2008_files/Default.htm) addresses the federal and state requirements for Colorado's Community Centered Board and Administrative Unit Staff when assuring the implementation of procedural safeguards, timely evaluation, and proper data collection within their local early intervention service area. The call specifically addresses roles and responsibilities during the screening, evaluation, and initial IFSP process and addresses the development of an interagency operating agreement to define local procedures. The call also provides guidelines for CAPTA and referrals that come from a NICU setting. The conference call was conducted jointly by staff from the Colorado Department of Human Services, Division for Developmental Disabilities and the Colorado Department of Education.
